Gwen, I love her work.  She looks so sweet here. Ha! She was anything but. Crabby, difficult, uber focused. I can't believe her life. She made millions of dollars. Creating, printing (on her own printing presses) and selling her books and cards, in the far northland of Michigan. Before the internet, people! Check out her story in this article written before she died, when she was 92 and still working.

“Gwen suffered a debilitating illness as a child, but turned to nature and art for strength. Her persistence and independent spirit led her to study mechanical drawing and work in a bomber manufacturing plant during World War II. After the war, she started her own stationery company in Michigan and built the business by creating and selling her own linoleum block prints.” Lindsey McDivitt
